I took pictures of the most delightful family this evening. Sometimes, when you don't really know those you are taking pictures of, you aren't sure what to expect. Such was the case tonight as I didn't quite know what to expect going into tonight's photo session. I was beyond pleasantly surprised... what a nice, lovely, beautiful family. I came away from this photo session with a smile on my face and not because I got to take pictures (which I love), but because this family truly touched my hea

rt.
In addition to meeting families for the first time, I am also still getting used to taking group shots. It can sometimes be tricky arranging everyone. I definitely do best with individual portraits, but I don't mind learning how to work with groups either. We took fun pictures (right) as well as some standard group shots.

At the end of the evening, the daughter of the lady who hired me had the idea of taking pictures of her children's feet. The lighting was perfect, and the photo really turned out quite lovely. It is a more abstract picture (left), but what a great keepsake to remember the size of her precious children's feet.

I also took several pictures of the individual couples and families. Each couple was fun and unique. The lady's son was particularly goofy and reminded me of my own brothers. He had fun taking me (too) literally, but in the end, I was able to get some nice pictures of him and his beautiful wife.
All in all, it was a very successful evening. I am happy with the way the pictures turned out, and I hope the family is, too.
